Our Run Consultation Service

1- We will look at the shape and arch of your feet to figure out what type of foot (high arches or flat feet, for example) you have. Determining your foot type is key to making sure you get the right running shoes.

2- We don’t measure your feet as the variation in sizes between brands can be misleading so we recommend that you try a range of trainers from a few brands to finding the one that suits you best. Even if you've been the same size for years, your foot size can change due to things like pregnancy or falling arches. 

3- Your running shoes should be half to a full size bigger than your regular shoe size because your feet will swell when you run and you need plenty of room in the toebox, we generally recommend a good thumbs width. If your toes are crammed in the front of the running shoe, you could develop blisters or black toenails or worse they could start to pole through the end of your shoe.

4- We will run a gait analysis for you to determine your running style. We’ll observe from behind to see whether you're overpronating (your foot rolls inward) or supinating (your foot rolls outward) when your foot strikes the ground. We will also assess from the side to monitor your body alignment through the gait cycle.

5- We will ask questions that will help us with your running shoe recommendations. Such as what type of running you do, how often you run, where you typically run, if you're training for a race, and what type of surfaces you run on etc.

6- We will let you try on as many shoes as required, encourage you to have a good walk and run in the shoes to test for fit, function, and feel before helping you make your final decision.
