RE-OPENING IN THE NEW WORLD - COVID 19

RE-OPENING IN THE NEW WORLD - COVID 19

We are super happy to be able to open our doors to you. The last 10 weeks have been the strangest ever but we've got through it and through our closed windows it looks like more people than ever have taken up running!

We have been following the Gov guidelines and taken the necessary steps to keep you and our staff safe whilst being able to open our doors and support our local running community.

To reassure you we wanted to share what we have done to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

Firstly, we have followed the official advice from the Government - 5 steps to safer being together:

 1. We have undertaken a COVID-19 risk assessment in our shop.

 2. We have a strict cleaning regime, hand washing and hygiene procedures in line with governmental guidelines.

 3. We have taken all reasonable steps to help people work from home if they aren't required to be in the shop i.e. stock/supplier management, marketing.

 4. We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance in the shop including customer service zoning.

 5. Where people cannot be 2m apart, we have done everything practical to manage transmission risk, again in line with the government guidelines, and installed screens to limit any transmission.

Although we have taken every precaution to protect you and our staff we are a running shop and people will be running on the treadmills with the obvious risks that entails. So we would ask that you respectively consider your own vulnerability when making appointments with us, as sometimes it's not always possible to rigidly maintain the 2m distance and effectively provide you with the service you deserve. If you consider yourself at risk in anyway but really need to see someone in our shop, then please call us and we can provide a private appointment.

Some of the things we would like you to know and encourage you to take part in:

- Clearly don't come into the shop if you feel you've been unwell in anyway recently. We will always discuss your needs by phone and deliver if you are desperate for some new shoes, advice or assistance.

- 99% bacterial hand gels and wipes will be available when entering and leaving the shop. We will also have face masks which we will encourage you to use or if you have your own even better.

- Adhere to the 2m social distancing rule in the shop, where possible and if not wear a face covering/mask.

- Ideally we will only be accepting card payments, rather than cash. If this really isn't possible for any reason, we will find a work around.

- We will provide socks for the gait analysis process and for trying on shoes. Every night they will be washed in 60C to kill any bacteria.

- We will allow you to browse the shop but ask that you consider what you want before you come to the shop, so we can make it as quick and efficient as possible to find what it is you are looking for. We would also ask you not to handle the items unless absolutely certain you want to buy them, and we would recommend not trying items on during this time unless absolutely necessary.

- We have re-arranged the shop so that the gait analysis machines are now in separate parts of the shop, well away from each other with a perspex screen down one side to keep you and our crew safe.

- We will be managing returns and exchanges in our usual way, but would ask that you call the shop or email before coming to discuss the issue so we can resolve it as quick and easily as possible. It may mean you don't actually have to come into the shop. Also, for any returns we will put them out of stock for 72 hours.

- We are creating an outside area where you can sit and relax away from each other and order a take away coffee if desired.

Lastly, we will be operating an appointment based system for Gait Analysis Consultations. This will help limit the amount of people in the shop at one time but also help manage your wait time. We know it would be extremely frustrating if you just had to 'chance' a time to get seen, especially when we have to limit the amount of people in the shop at one time. Whilst we are getting the appointment system up on our website, please email bookings@runningfree.net with your preferred date, time and phone number.

Thank you for helping keep us all safe and well.

Let's get back to Running Happy!

The Running Free team.
